Three dimensional ceramics.....

We bet you will not be able to guess what this is going to be!...Fourth and fifth grade artists are warming up their ceramic sculpting 'chops'.......we are really good with clay...it is one of our favorite mediums around here....

Clay, oh Clay....hooray!...

Third grade artists are learning the technique of properly attaching clay pieces to ensure that all of their hard work will be intact when it comes out of the kiln...their challenge was to sculpt a bas relief owl with a myriad of textures....stay tuned for the finished product, after we have our underglazing lesson!

Self portrait fish.....

Artists at Founders have been exploring the idea of metaphorical self portraiture and learning to work with water soluble pastels. They have created fish portraits that illustrate how they see themselves as they swim along in their lives!
